Good morning, Stroock's Books faithful.
Oldest daughter graduated High School yesterday, which explains the lack of a post. We admit to being a little emotional and sentimental, which she and the other Daughters find both amusing and annoying, mostly annoying.
More than 700 Bridgewater-Raritan High School students graduated. This being Chindia, we counted seven Patels and six Chens. Congratulations. Reminder, Patel is like the Smith or Schmidt of India. There are two on our street.
The school year is over and summer has official begun. Let's Celebrate.
We completely forgot about Juneteenth, damn it.
Yesterday afternoon when replacing the filter in our furnace we noticed condensation and ice buildup on the AC coils. Service company with whom we have a contract (and who installed AC unit and coils) originally said they'd be here between 4-8 last night. Later service company called back and said system needed 24 hours to defrost. Eye twitch ensued. Bear in mind the AC system was serviced and repaired last year. We are not pleased, and eye twitch continues.
Fortunately it cooled off last night and as we write this the temp outside is a refreshing 65 degrees. That's American temperature, not stupid Canadian temperature, and screw you Edmonton, stupid Stanley Cup losers. Also, the service company has been good (and expensive) to us in the past.
Also the car needs work today and there's been a strange low-level hum from the fridge this week. The hum doesn't sound out of place or even odd, but it is new. These constant mechanical problems vex us. They do vex us indeed.
Related: we watched The Towering Inferno last night (part of our ongoing effort to find something good on the telly) and worried about our smoke detectors.
The Israeli war on Iran continues. All eyes on Fordow now. What will Trump do? We've no idea. We once again insist that the Israelis have their own plan for destroying Fordow. We think/hope it's a commando raid followed by a para drop to seize the facility. That would be cool. Others in the media are speculating, as we have, that the Israelis have figured out a way to drop 30,000 pound bunker busters out of a C-130. We'll see.
DOGE report: obviously we got nothing done yesterday. We did sit in the stands at Rutger's Jersey Mike's Arena (for the love of God) and thought about World War 1990: The Managua Campaign. The thinking was good.
3Chinese 747’s snuck into Iran.
? To collect nukes they’d given Iran?
Gordon Chang at Gatestone Institute thinks so.
Or at least they gave them to them….
