Will's Good Idea for the Week of 6/22/25

So after considering all our Central Airless options yesterday morning, including a hotel, an Air B&B, going to our father's house in the cool lower Hudson River valley (which presents multiple challenges)....we went to the local electronics store and picked up three AC window units. This was the least-worst option.

The air was tolerable, decent even. Yesterday wasn't too bad and today's not going to be quite the scorcher that the cute weather girl originally promised. But the next two days will see 100 degree temps*. We're worried. We're also worried because we've lived with central air for 20 years. We're using new equipment and don't quite know their natural rhythms. And should these infernal machines be running all the time?

We are consulting a Southern gentleman on the matter now. If there's one thing the Johnnies know about, it's heat. Also college football.

[That's two things, Knobhead. And seriously? President Trump reduced Fordow to a pile of radioactive rubble because the Iranians made him mad, and you lead this blog off with your broken central air because you're a pampered American who can't take the temperature being a little higher than you like. And you're worried, for some reason, about out of the box window AC units? And what the hell does 32 degrees in your stupid Fahrenheit system mean, anyway? Bloody Yank-Ed]

Yesterday we were dealing with various issues, including the gym and what to get for dinner, when we were messaged by a few friends, 'Uh...we're doing it!' Actually, one of them was a fellow north American so he didn't say 'we'. Carney most assuredly didn't want Trump to bomb Iran.

My word....Fordow is gone, they say. Natanz and Isfahan too. We keep waiting for Iran to do something. What's their next move? Attack US bases in the Middle East? Close the Straits of Hormuz? These moves would be suicidal. Terrorist attacks on Jewish targets in the West? That's certainly on point for the Mullahs. We admit we've no idea. Exit question, is the Ayatollah in one of them Hitler's Last Days situations?

Eschew ebullience. Iran can still strike Israel.

Also, the Israelis recovered three hostage bodies in Gaza. With all the Iran business, it's important to remember to bomb Gaza.

Well, we're off to plan and prep Oldest Daughter's graduation party.

*Thats in nice, Trumpy American numbers, not crappy socialist numbers. Zero degrees? What the hell even is that? And saying the temp is 37.3 degrees, the rough equivalent to 100 degrees in American numbers, tells one nothing.
